My daughter’s 8th birthday was coming up, and I had a great idea. I thought I would get her a great doll house, but then I started shopping and looking at different doll houses, and saw how incredibly expensive they were. Was this really something my daughter would enjoy? It was something I would have enjoyed, but how could I make that decision for someone else, especially when I was going to pay out more than a few hundred dollars.
While trying to decide, and as I was shopping around, I found something interesting online. I saw that there are actually online dollhouses. Now you might be wondering, as I was, what an online dollhouse is? Well, it turns out that an online doll house is just like a real dollhouse but online.
You choose the type of house you want, and then you and your daughter can begin choosing the furniture you want to decorate your new dollhouse. At first this type of dollhouse didn’t interest me much, but I thought it would be a good way to gauge my daughter’s interest in doll houses and in collecting miniature furniture.
One Saturday afternoon I introduced her to the online dollhouse, and we spent the whole afternoon playing with different dollhouses online. It was one of the most interesting afternoons we have spent together. She absolutely loved it! Since then, she now spends a lot of time building different versions of the online dollhouse.
The Advantages to the Online Dollhouse
There are actually a lot of advantages to the online dollhouse. First they do not cost as much as the real dollhouses, but let’s not just consider cost here. The online dollhouse allows you to be creative, imaginative, and yet learn a lot about technology too.
Another distinct advantage of the online dollhouse is the variety. When you get a real dollhouse you do not have much variety after you buy it. You can not just go out and buy another dollhouse. That is, unless you have a lot of cash on hand. With an online dollhouse you can change and have as many different houses as you want. You can have castles, chalets, Victorian houses, one story houses, or two story houses. There are lots of options. You can add and change furniture and accessories as often as you want.
In the End To Buy or not to Buy
So, back to my dilemma! Do I buy the e real dollhouse or stick to the online versions? In the end I opted to buy a real one, and use the online versions too. I believe they both have their own distinct advantages. The online dollhouse is cheaper and teaches children about technology. The real dollhouse teaches children to use their imagination and creativity in real world settings. So I think the best decision is to use both the online dollhouse, as well as purchase a real dollhouse for many hours of fun and enjoyment.
